Stream Overlay

Beta

Show a live quiz inside your TikTok LIVE, YouTube, or Twitch stream. The overlay renders the current question, a join QR code, and the live leaderboard — your viewers play along on their own phones.

How it works

  1. You add the overlay link below as a Browser Source in OBS, layered over your camera.
  2. Viewers see the question, the join code, and the leaderboard inside your video.
  3. They scan the QR or type the code at playquiznow.com and play on their own phone — names climb the on-stream leaderboard live.

Get your overlay link

Enter the join code of any of your multiplayer quizzes (My Quizzes).

Set up in OBS

  1. In OBS: Sources → + → Browser, paste your overlay link, set size to about 420 × 1000.
  2. Drag it over your camera scene. For TikTok, keep the bottom third and the right edge of the frame clear — that's where TikTok draws chat and reaction icons.
  3. Settings → Stream → Service: Custom, paste the server URL and stream key from TikTok (LIVE access required) — or stream to YouTube / Twitch as usual.
  4. Start streaming, then start your quiz from the normal host screen on another tab or device. The overlay follows the game automatically.

Using TikTok LIVE Studio instead of OBS? Add the link as a Link source and tick “Opaque background” above — Live Studio doesn't support transparency.

URL options

  • ?bg=dark — opaque background (default is transparent)
  • ?rows=8 — leaderboard rows shown (default 5)
  • ?qr=0 — hide the QR / join-code card

This feature is in beta. If something doesn't look right on your stream, email info@playquiznow.com — include your quiz code and a screenshot.
